Linda Riesterer and Geraldine Warner
Linda Riesterer is a quilt artist specializing in hand applique, embroidery, and beading. She has exhibited at the International Quilt Festival in Houston, the American Quilt Society Quilt Week in Paducah, Kentucky, and the International Quilt and Fiber Art Festival in Everett, where she has won several awards. Linda has taught many classes. Her students describe her as patient, knowledgable, and relaxed.
Geraldine Warner creates two- and three-dimensional fiber art using primarily silk fabrics. Most of her fabrics are hand-dyed, painted, or recycled. Her work has received national recognition and one of her silk quilts is in the permanent collection of the National Quilt Museum in Paducah, Kentucky. Two of her pieces are currently in traveling global exhibits presented by Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA). Geraldine is based in Wenatchee, Washington, and is a member of the Contemporary Quilt Art Association.

Combine fabric collage and embroidery to create a one-of-a-kind fiber art piece. Whether you are a beginner or experienced embroiderer this class is for you. Linda will teach nine different embroidery stitches and at the end of the class you will have a small artwork ready to frame. Fabrics and embroidery threads will be supplied.

Geraldine will teach her unique stitching method to create a stunning three-dimensional art piece using embroidery to shape the fabric and embellishments to add bling. No stitching experience required. You will be invited to select fabrics, embroidery threads, beads, polished stones, and other embellishments from the supplies provided.

Add glitz and glitter to your projects with a bead encrusted disc combining 6 different beading embroidery stitches. The finished circle can be used as a brooch, necklace, or an embellishment on another project. Supply kit includes everything you need to get you started with bead embroidery. Linda will bring her extensive collection of beads for you to use in your project.

A tiny nuthatch is perched on an English paper pieced flower in this whimsical fiber art piece. Embroidery stitches hold the fabrics for the nuthatch in place and add dimension and personality to the little bird. Learn how to use paper templates to create the petals and center for the flower in a technique called English paper piecing. Frame your piece as a card or mount for display.

A kawandi is a type of hand-stitched quilt traditionally made in India. Enjoy the process of slow stitching as, working piece by piece from the edge to the center, you create your own small original kawandi. All supplies will be provided, including a variety of fabrics and threads. Beverages included.
